The far east surcharge has been prevalent at de-group depots for the past years, an injustice, but one that most importers have been forced to live with. As majority of suppliers from China have chosen the terms on which they want to transact, at some point South African importers will have to stand together and say enough is enough. In the past months we have seen the same trend start to emerge on some european  routes, but mostly out of Rotterdam .
